Funding Officer, Science on Wheels

Graduate Student, School of Natural Resources

I am a PhD student in the School of Natural Resources, and I study the ecology of migratory shorebirds. Shorebirds are in decline worldwide, so I am tracking them to better inform conservation efforts. Researching birds has taken me to places I never would have imagined, and I’ve been lucky to meet awesome people everywhere I’ve been and see that interest in migratory birds connects people from many different places. Birds have amazing stories, and it’s always exciting to learn more about them. In the future I would like to work as an Extension Wildlife Specialist doing applied research and helping people better coexist with the wildlife we share the land with. I am very happy to be involved with Science on Wheels to help start discussions about science with folks from a variety of backgrounds.
