Sebastian Cardona Ramirez

I am a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery. I am also a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute where I investigate how musculoskeletal diseases affect animal and human cell. Right now, I am particularly interested in 3D printing as a tool to develop customized orthopaedic implants, specialized surgical training and novel experimental design. My long-term goals are 1) to pursue a faculty position in an academic institution and 2) to work closely with the biomedical industry to develop novel, yet affordable treatments for musculoskeletal disorders based on Regenerative therapeutics to be used particularly in developing countries
