Randolph County Extension

We had a thin crowd of 5 in Moberly. However, we had great fun talking to those that did brave the snow and had a lovely venue to present.

Montgomery County Extension

Our crowd in Montgomery was fantastic! We presented to 15 people at the Montgomery City Library. AND we made it into the Montgomery Standard!

Madison County Extension

We visited Fredericktown as part of Science on Wheels’ first two day, long-distance event! Since Madison and Franklin counties were a bit farther than we would have liked to travel in one day, we decided to stay overnight for two days of science-packed fun! The first evening we held an event in Fredericktown, where we had a crowd of 30, and then the following day we visited middle school science classes at Fredericktown R-1. Following our time at the school, we held another event in Union! Talk about a whirlwind few days! Thankfully, we also had some down time to check out the beauty of Missouri in this part of the state. What a great experience!

Mizzou Alumni Association of Franklin County

We visited Union as part of Science on Wheels’ first two day, long-distance event! Since Madison and Franklin counties were a bit farther than we would have liked to travel in one day, we decided to stay overnight for two days of science-packed fun! The first night we spent in Fredericktown, holding an event in Union the next evening. We spoke to 10 Mizzou alumni at this event, and got some free gear!

Missouri State Fair

Science on Wheels presented for the first time this year at the Missouri State Fair. We gave short presentations and interactive demonstrations about science at the MU Extension booth located in the Mizzou Central building. These were a couple of long days, with many more people than we expected, but all in all it was a fun experience. We hope that we can develop our programs to better serve those visiting the State Fair in the future.

Serenity Valley Winery

This October we returned to Fulton to hold an event in partnership with the beautiful Serenity Valley Winery. During this event, not only did we get to talk about some great science, we also got to indulge in the wonderful wines that Serenity Valley has to offer! We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better audience, even if the crowd was only 6!

We also got a feature in the Fulton Sun!

Maries County Extension

We visited Vienna and had a fantastic, engaged audience of 20 for our second Science on Wheels event of the semester. From curious kids to difficult questions, our speakers fielded it all with great skill. Thank you to our wonderful host, Pat Snodgrass, for making this event a great success. People even braved the first Missouri snowfall to come see us!
