Victoria Hamlin

President, Recruitment and Membership Officer (2021-2023)

Graduate Student, Department of Biological Sciences

I am a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences. Growing up I was always interested in how the brain works and made it my goal to become a Neuroscientist! My research focuses on understanding what parts of the genome are contributing to differences in learning and memory traits and how it effects synapses, the brain cells’ main point of communication. Understanding how all the components work together to produce these traits will give us more insight into cognitive disorders. My long-term goal is to provide a more comprehensive picture of how differences between individual genomes govern learning and memory capabilities and what is the expected range of neurodiversity in the population.
