I am a plant geneticist focused on corn breeding for specialty corn lines. My ultimate goal is to take new and unique lines of corn and turn them into alcoholic beverages. I am interested in advocating for new specialty lines, and I aim to bring to light the benefits of diverse corn lines and the abolishment of corn monoculture.

After graduating, I want to work in industry research, such as the whiskey industry. I hope to develop novel and interesting products to create a new “craft whiskey” movement. I’d also like to be an advocate and science communicator for the diversity of crops.
