Science on Wheels is a graduate student group designed to connect Missouri citizens with scientists. We partner with organizations across Missouri to give presentations at community events; these consist of 3-6 short talks from graduate and postdoctoral researchers. We train our speakers to effectively communicate with the general public, which contributes to their development as a scientist while simultaneously educating and engaging with the people of Missouri.
Our audiences include public elementary schools, alumni associations, rotary clubs, senior living centers, and in particular, rural communities which we access through partnerships with Extension. We aim to promote awareness, interest, and support of STEM while contributing to the Land Grant Mission. We are always looking to connect with new partners and new audiences in creative ways.
